3-D Black Bears in the Aspens

Class description

Create a breathtaking Aspen leaf shaped gourd plaque with a 3-D country scene. Learn how to create realistic looking rocks with Apoxie Sculpt adding small clay bears next to a creek with a touch of ink dye.

Each student will receive a precut gourd aspen leaf, a tutorial, pattern ready for transfer, Apoxie Sculpt, micro brushes, bail and a piece of leather for hanging.

The instructor will provide ink dyes ( red, green, yellow, white, brown, black, blue and tan), blending solution, paint brushes, pallets, heat guns, extension cords and power strips for the students to use.

This class is appropriate for all levels of students.

What you are required to bring

Each student is required to bring the following items to class:

• Xacto knife
• E-6000 glue
• Rubber gloves

About the instructor

Loved to draw when young continued through college. Introduced to gourds in 1998. Loved the non conventional canvas. Self taught wood burning, carving, ink dye, alcohol ink, pen & ink, recently Apoxie Sculpt. Starting teaching 2015. Each gourd is a challenge, with size, shape, and markings enhancing the design.
