Carved Gourd Antler

Class description

Create a unique relief carved deer antler cross, accented with wood burning for shading. With a semi-precious stone in the center.

This class is for all levels of gourders, and students will likely complete the project in class.

The instructor will provide a tutorial, ready to use pattern, gourd piece, semi precious stone, bail, leather piece and sand paper.

What you are required to bring

Each student is required to bring the following items to class:

Carver (any brand), with engraving cutter bits (I use #105,107, #110 & #116 dremel bits) Teacher will have some bits for purchase.

A controlled temperature wood burner and a small rounded skew tip.

Class Cancellation Policy

If this class does not meet its minimum number of students by September 1st, the class will be cancelled, you will be contacted, and your registration fee will be refunded.

About the instructor

I was introduced to gourds in 1998. Loved the non-conventional canvas. Self taught in wood burning, carving, ink dye, pen & ink & alcohol ink. Still exploring other mediums. Lately enjoying travel around the country teaching.
