Class description


A beautiful functional piece you will be proud to display on your wall. You will learn how to melt rope together and attach it to the gourd and apply all clock mechanisms & numbers for a working clock. You will learn to inlay heshi beads.


The instructor will provide dyes, paints, lacing, heshi beads, glue and rope, but you are welcome to bring your own.

CLOCK MECHANISMS & NUMBERS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM TEACHER FOR $9.00


What you are required to bring


Cleaned canteen, bushel basket or kettle gourd - 12" or larger in diameter with as flat a bottom & top as possible.

Dust mask, mini saw, gourd scraping tool and an old T-shirt for cleaning tools.

A blow dryer, a compass with lead in one side, and a black sharpie.

Rotary tool, 1/2" round carbide burr, medium football carbide burr, drill & 1/8" & 3/8" bits.

Heat tool (Weller SPG 80L) & Weller pointed tip heat tool - purchase at Ace Hardware or from Amazon.

Gourd wood burning tool and nib of your choice.

About the instructor
