Class description

Design takes all shapes and sizes. Journey with me as I teach you how to draw a dragonfly design on your gourd. When you are finished drawing it on you will be able to put this design on any gourd and make it unique. This class will give you the know-how to design in the round so that your gourd is not just one sided. Let me teach you a new way to think about gourds.

The objective is to have the design all drawn on and inked in. When we are finished your gourd will be similar to the top picture. We will be doing a gourd shard tester so you will know how to complete the painting. Instructions are included. After taking all that time to draw on a beautiful design you will want to take it home to paint so you are not rushing your paint job.

I will provide a kit that includes: a gourd ready to draw on, pencil and eraser, and a Pitt Pen

I will also have the paints and Inks for our test sample.

What you are required to bring

You may want to bring an Apron.

Class Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel this class, you MUST contact us before September 1, 2019 in order to receive a refund. Note that NGS will withhold $10 per cancelled class to cover processing fees. To cancel, call Patti Jo Newsom @ 817-917-7873 or email [email protected]

If a class does not meet the minimum number of students by the class cancellation cut-off date, the class will be cancelled, you will be contacted and your full registration fee will be refunded.

About the instructor

I have created Art my entire life one way or another. In college I found design to be my favorite. Over the years I have worked in different medias, including wood burning and carving. After finding GOURDS I fell in love. I enjoy using all my learned skills to create Art on Gourds.
