Wedding Ocean Drum

Class description

You will learn how to make a beautiful ocean drum with banger and learn more advanced techniques for your future projects. Apply a drum head to a gourd.

This class is for all levels.

I will provide paint, metal ring, drum head, colored wax linen, misc feathers, number 4 shot, southwestern patterns, carbon paper.

What you are required to bring

• An 8" to 10" diameter cleaned canteen gourd with 6" hole cut on top and cleaned very smooth on the inside,
• Fabric/color of your choice 1" wide by 4' long to wrap ring,
• A dozen colored beads of your choice with a hole to accommodate wax linen lacing
• Colored Sharpies
• Mini saw
• Mini sander
• 8" water bowl to soak drum head
• Scissors
• Pencil
• Dust Mask
• Eye Protection (your regular glasses or safety glasses)

Class Cancellation Policy

If this class does not meet the minimum number of students by September 1st, the class will be cancelled, you will be contacted, and your full registration fee will be refunded.

About the instructor

Clint teaches gourd art, cowboy rope basket making, bottle carving, 3-dimential gourd carving at gourd festivals, patch meetings, private classes in California, Arizona and Nevada. He is published in the International Gourd Magazine.
